>> live from the kgo-tv broadcast center this is abc7 news. at 6:00, live doppler 7 hd is tracking a new storm moving into the bay area. meteorologist, mike nicco, will tell us when to expect showers in your part of the bay area. >> breaking news from texas an outbreak of tornadoes lead as path of destruction and now the search is on for the injured. >> developing news from san jose, a woman and a toddler are stabbed to death and now police say a man is in custody. at 6:00 on this thursday, good morning, thanks for joining us. >> we will see where the sprinkles are this morning. mike? >> well start with a look at san mateo bridge as we look back to the west toward san mateo you can see what is going onback

the east. you can see it looks quiet right there but we have a few radar runs showing up on both sides of the bridge from industrial boulevard to foster city with sprinkles possible. deeper in san mateo to west hillsdale we have a good radar return. some of better runs coming from sunol grade to mission boulevard and fremont toward the parkway and 680 and 880 where they are close for a while. livermore is still looking for the best radar runs. scattered light sprinkles, and a light shower is possible during the only commute. by noon, we will start to see mostly clouds with a stray shower possible. >> we are seeing a couple of accidents working right now if you are traveling southbound along 101 coming from san

francisco toward candlestick park a crash is blocking two lanes with more details on that in a little bit and we have accidents on surface streets and this is in livermore so if you are traveling in this area it is shut down because of an overturned vehicle. look at 580 in the westbound direction bumper-to-bumper traffic will take you 50 minutes to get out of tracy to dublin. this is the golden gate bridge coming from sausalito to san francisco with traffic moving smoothly and the construction in the northbound direction has wrapped up. >> we are following breaking news from san jose where police are investigating an overnight homicide after 1:00 o'clock this morning police got a phone call of an unconscious man in a parking lot near blossom hill road in south san jose, officers got to the seen and declared the man dead saying it appears he was assaulted. so far the identity is not released and investigators are on the scene as we speak.

we will continue to follow the story and bring you any new information as it comes in. >> in san jose, developing news a "person of interest" has been taken into custody in connection with the triple stabbing that killed a woman and small child and injured another child. officers picked the man up in san francisco last night in the attack at a home on view moment avenue at 4:00 p.m. while police say the 29-year-old ruben ramirez is the "person of interest" in the stabbing death of a one-year-old boy and his 48-year-old grandmother. the video shows the scene, a three-year-old girl who was stabbed was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition. ruben ramirez was taken into custody last night. authorities say he is related to the victims but they are not calling him a "suspect" at this time. >> you can see destruction left behind after a string tornadoes

in texas outside of dallas. six people are now confirmed kid and home after home is just destroyed. abc7 news reporter is monitoring developments in the newsroom. katie marzullo? >> the sheriff of hood county is speaking. we have a look at his news conference. i have been listening and he just said they have accounted for seven of the missing people. he said they accounted for 7 of the 14 missing but that leaves senator missing. fire recuse teams will look for them and a hard search if a few more hours. as any search the sheriff said any will leave no stone unattorneyed. -- unturned. the sheriff confirmed the death toll stands at six and they are still working to i.d. those who have been killed but as far as he knows no children were kill

acres.gusts made it hard for firefighters to get a handle on it. it is only 10 percent contained. more than 800 firefighters are on the ground with seven air tankers. blest -- pleasanton police are looking for two men who problem add woman and tried to steal her baby. they fold her to a town home and one pushed her to the ground and grabbed her purse and the other took the stroller with the child inside. the stroller tipped over and the suspected ran off. neither the woman or the inpant were hurt. >> the san francisco police department is calling a new lawsuit alleging misconduct from the chief without merit. a woman was laid off as police attorney in 2011 less than a month after he was sworn in as chief. o'hare had investigated a case where brass were accused of hiding police misconduct and if

2009 she investigated the chief for not immediately filing a domestic violence report against a friend. the chief was suspended. san francisco police department say miss o'hare was health -- let go during a reorganization. >> america's cup teams will resume practice today for the first time since the death of a sailor during a training run last week. on tuesday, america's cup officials announced the races will go on as scheduled. they expect all four entrants to compete including artemis racing. one of the two boats was damaged when it capsized a week ago, killing andrew simpson of great britain. >> we are a day away from the bicycling tour into the bay area with stage five taking participants from santa barbara and tomorrow is stage 6 in san jose with bicyclists navigating

and all the moisture is coming to shore with the cold front and the best chance of seeing moisture on the ground now there noon or 1:00 o'clock as this moves from north to south and the north bay usually get the bulk of the wet weather. now, the wins, not a great day to be on san francisco bay from 1:00 this only to 8:00 p.m. with wind at 15 to 25 knots and temperatures are running in the mid-50's to upper 50's in the south bay and what is the same thing for all of us but bodega bay at 49 and brentwood at 59. here is a look at san mateo bridge where we have a few sprinkles on the lens from hayward to san mateo and it will be cooler that is the big story. wide-spread cooling will touch all us and the showers make this view but you the be cooler today and a dry weekend with a warming trend coming our way. you can see temperatures tonight will be in the 50's with the

>> live from the kgo-tv broadcast center this is abc7 news. >> good morning, thursday, 6:30. thanks for joining us. >> let's find out what the weather is like on this thursday morning. mike? >> well start in redwood city at veterans boulevard, and right around 101, jackie sent a picture of rain drops taken 10 or 15 minutes ago. the radar runs are getting darker and i have had moisture now starting to make its way on to the ground and possibly getting slim -- slick from redwood city to palo alto and to mountain view and sunnyvale. on the eastern side of san jose, alum rock we have better radar runs and same for fremont to pleasanton ton and livermore where the radar runs are not so

impressive as half an hour ago with moisture lurking off the coast headed to the east and southeast with thick clouds. the chance of rain is greatest from now through, say, noon, possibly 1:00 o'clock, with just an isolated chance of a shower and mostly cloudy with temperatures in the 50's at the coast and 60's for the rest of us. >> looking eastbound on the bay bridge toll plaza, the metering lights are on. you are at a standstill. it will take you 15 minutes from the maze and through the tolls. headed back over to our w amount ze app we are tracking rain across 87 in san jose so the drive is still quiet. we do not have a lot of accidents but a few working at the moment and we have one in san francisco that is blocking a lane, southbound 101 and it is causing quite the backup coming out of the city and toward san

bruno. kristen and eric? >> breaking news from san jose, police find a man dead if a parking lot, the four the homicide in 24 hours. abc7 news reporter cornell bernard joins us with what we know of the latest violence. >> the first thing we noticed is how much police tape there is surrounding this crime seen which stretches at least half city block surrounding continue to -- 10 to 12 businesses in the, paing lot of a jack-in-the-box restaurant and san jose police say it was obvious the man had been assaulted. police are trying to confirm the age and identity of the victim. they say they have no suspects. police say they responded here after a motorist noticed a man acting strangely and we though up they found the body of a man located near dumpsters.

this is a very busy part of blossom hill road. police hope someone saw something and they can bring some information. this is the 16th homicide in san jose of 2013. all police can say is they are looking at some evidence here. >> thank you. also in san jose, a man is questioned in connect with a triple stabbing that killed two and injured another around 4:00 yesterday afternoon. police say a 29-year-old ruben ramirez is a "person of interest" in the stabbing death of a one-year-old boy and his 48-year-old grandmother. video from sky 7 shows the scene of a three-year-old girl also stabbed was taken to the hospital where she is now in stable condition. ruben ramirez was taken into custody after 9:00 last night

after a manhunt and authorities say he is related to the victims but they are not calling him a "suspect" at this time. there have been four homicides in san jose in 24 hours and the first occurred when police found a woman's body inside a holiday inn expressway, a crew found the body in a room of the hotel yesterday afternoon at 1:30. police say they cannot find a weapon and they are not sure if she died at the hotel. >> we are following breaking news in texas where communities outside dallas and forth worth are surveying the damage after a string of storms. abc7 news reporter katie marzullo has a lot new pictures. >> the sheriff of hood county gave us an update in the last 30 minutes saying the death toll is still at six. if you look at the video of the damage it is unbelievable how badly the homes were destroyed. other new information, the six

who were killed are all adults. we do not have their identities. good news on people would were thought to be missing, of the 14 who the sheriff said were unaccounted for after the tornadoes hit, seven of tho people have been found. and that lebanons seven more people still missing. the search continues. >> search-and-rescue task force, team from dallas fire and rescue and they are working as we speak and they estimate being done around 10:00 and we have them covering the area. we might do a more in-depth search. >> 10:00 there is 8:00 our time this morning. the storm prediction center confirms three tornadoes hit north texas and this area was hit the hardest and all of the people killed were in one community there that was the by has been tab for humanity. 50 people went to the local hospital and the sheriff says only three are still there but 16 people want straight to ft.

coming out of the north bay and head to san francisco. you can see what we are dealing with as far as the radar on the light side as we led to the east bay from dublin/pleasanton through the sunol grade across 680 and 84 toward union city, fremont, and milpitas, we have better radar returns and that stretches across 237 to sunnyvale and los altos and mount detain view and cupertino so look for light rain with more rain off the coast headed to the east, southeast association this is going to head to the heart of the bay over the next couple of hours. you can see some dry air work its way to eureka and down the mendocino county line so the best chance of rain is from now to noon or 1:00 o'clock. choppy on bay whether san francisco or san pablo or delta community at 11:00 this afternoon to 8:00 this evening,

mariners have northwest winds at 20 do 30 knots. what is happening down in san jose, here is 87, the radar returns are impressive but it looks dry right here. we will talk about what is going to ammendment cooler today for all of us, the shower just for a few of house. cooler tonight and tomorrow and we will see more sunshine the temperatures are holding below average until we get to the weekend with a big warming trend. we have a disconnect between the low and the moisture with not of the energy to the north with plenty of moisture through but nothing to squeeze it out. that is why we will have less than a .1". through 7:00 and into the noon hour you can see the radar run is gone and here comes the dry air for the evening and overnight and cooler tomorrow than this morning so mostly in the low-to-upper 50's. the seven-day outlook with the
